Siemens Gigaset VoIP phones - like many others devices - have the ability to retrieve and display news in the format of RSS feeds. However, the capabilities of these devices are often quite limited, e.g. my phone does only display the first (most recent) message of a feed when switching to screen saver mode. By using this page, you can make use of the fortune cookie database to generate a new (possibly humorous) quote everytime the RSS feed is accessed. Of course you can also use any other RSS feed reader.
To display random quotations on your phone display, simply check all the fields ("jars") you are interested in and click the button to generate an unique RSS link. Simply copy the short link into your gigaset preferences to display the quotations on your phone display.
